Some taxidermy from the last couple years. Lobster, crab, fish skulls and tails
Had several people interested in seeing some of the taxidermy work I’ve done with Lobsters fish and crabs so here’s a slideshow of a bunch of the work that I’ve done over the last couple years.

      I do good enough on them. I try to keep cost reasonable for most people to afford them when they get a trophy and want done. Had a buddy that mounted his own Lobster back in the 80s that told me how to do it, but I’ve expanded quite a bit from that

    You may already know this, or heck, you may even do this already, but it's worth me mentioning. I have a recommendation for combating powerhead deflection on odd angle hits. Take a greater than or equal to 5/8" countersink bit to the muzzle end of your 3/8" pipe and chamfer the inside diameter to give the powerhead a little bit of a sharper edge. The sharper edge is more likely to "bite" into the fish and not deflect.

    • @jasonbihari
      @jasonbihari 3 дня назад

      I have done that, but with the mold that I made it ends up flat. I would have to set up a new set of pipes with all of that already done with some epoxy in it and make a new mold. I usually don’t have much problems with angle shots. This one just moved, and it still went off just blew out the side.

    Dang bro, couldnt of picked a harder day! Done a lot of that, all around the harbor & up into Lemon Bay for years. I mark all the potholes in my GPS & fish em in all different tides & temps. There are very big gators & snook all through there, not to mention bull sharks. I try to stay in the boat most of the time, not like the redfish guys, up to their chest, they must of never seen anyone hit by a stingray. I like the change up in content, I spearfished a lot in my earlier years, not quite to your level, did most 80 - 100'. Back then that was way out, not like now, it's a parking lot 90 miles out in ARS season! Maybe I'll run into you one day. Keep up the good work & stay safe brother.

    • @jasonbihari
      @jasonbihari 3 дня назад

      It was a hard day but one that I didn’t mind making. I’ve had some of my best days in that creek in the last 10 years so it’s always worth checking. I didn’t ever make it back last winter and it isn’t a summer spot so maybe I’ll check it out in 4-5 months.

    Hey man not sure if you’ll answer or not since this is a little older video. Anyway I don’t dive but wanted to dive certified (more in my youth 15 to early 20s) and still thinking about getting certified (now 29 approaching 30 next year). The two biggest reasons I want to get certified is hog fish and slipper lobster(I grew up calling and still call them bulldozer). My main question is for those two is it worth it?

    • @jasonbihari
      @jasonbihari 4 дня назад

      Diving in general is worth it to me. Hogfish are pretty easy to find around Tampa and Clearwater but thin out down my way. Slippers are all over but you have to figure out what they like and how to see them.

    Nice bugs. Years ago (1977) I went on an overnight trip to the Exuma area of the Bahamas. Early morning I went for a swim and walked along the beach. Found a GIANT dead lobster washed up on the shore. I'm a bit over 6 feet tall for reference, when I picked it up by the antennae and held it in front of me the tail was dragging the ground. Pretty sure it weighed nearly 20 lbs, unfortunately the only pic I have of it is a 35mm slide.
